Good staff, rough dining

The staff were super friendly and the bed was comfy. We stayed one night, but the dining experience was a letdown. Our food was cold and kinda inedible. The bar was packed too. At least the room was nice and cozy, but the whole dining scenario was a miss.

my stay at the britannia was quite pleasant. the double room was spacious and had a solid shower. the fitness centre was great, and the indoor pool looked inviting. the location is good, being close to local dining options, including a carvery that always seemed busy.

Unfortunately, the room's decor felt a bit outdated, with stained carpets and a cramped bathroom that left little room to maneuver. The shower took a painfully long time to heat up, while the soap dispenser was empty on arrival. For some, the bed was uncomfortably hard, akin to sleeping on concrete, and only provided with a single thin pillow. noise disturbances were an issue during the night, and a malfunctioning extractor fan kept the room buzzing with a high-pitched whistling sound that was difficult to ignore, ruining what should have been a restful sleep.

Oh, the food! The buffet style meal had me buzzing with excitement, and those hearty dishes were a right treat after a long day. The staff were charming, particularly in housekeeping, ensuring my stay was comfortable. the swimming pool was a delightful way to unwind!

The dining options could do with a bit of a glow-up—some unexpected dishes that didn't quite hit the mark for me, and don’t get me started on the early bar closing! It felt a bit off for night owls like us.

Mixed feelings about this stay

When we got there, a nice guy at reception mentioned the £5 parking charge and we struggled a bit with our room cards. The beds were comfy, but the TV setup was awkward. Drinks at the bar were decent. Just a heads up, no veggie brekkie options, so we had to drive elsewhere for that. Wouldn't rush to stay again.

Very clean and well maintained. The spacious twin room was bright and airy. The spa was a great chillout spot. Loved the easy access to the airport for our early flight!
